A new provider for the Polk City Square

Hello! As you may know, the Polk City Square Newsletter has been acquired by Big Green Umbrella Media; we are the company that produces North Polk Living magazine, which is delivered in the mail each month to North Polk residents.
I am your new contact for submitting news; I’m familiar with some of you from doing the calendar of events in North Polk Living, and I look forward to hearing from all of you. You can email me at Kathy@dmcityview.com or call 515-953-4822, ext. 309.

Academy

Spiritual Retreat

Mark your calendars for a half-day Spiritual Retreat at Polk City UMC on Saturday, Feb. 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This retreat will be led by spiritual directors from the Upper Room Academy for Spiritual Formation. This will be a great way for us to end our worship series on Soul Reset and enter into Lent with our spiritual wells filled. Mark your calendars now and make plans to attend.

Mittens

Collecting winter gloves, scarves, socks

The UMW is asking for winter gloves, mittens and scarves, along with socks for all ages. These will be placed in the Comet Cupboard. Not only are neighbors hungry, they need to stay warm in our Iowa winters. If you want to help our neighbors keep warm, you may put these items directly in the cupboard or with the food pantry baskets on the long table in the church entryway.  We will be collecting these through the end of February.  Any questions? Contact Charlotte Loter: 515-240-8436 or caloter@msn.com.
